It’s easy to sink in the muck of the day
It’s easy to think you are stuck in this place
It’s easy to fall for the thoughts in your brain
That whisper the message, “you’re caught in this pain.”
It’s harder to see past the obstacles thick
It’s harder to push when the muck’s getting slick
It’s hard to believe when you’re cut to the quick
And the pressure is pounding your soul with a brick
So we turn from the hurt to the task at the hand
We step to an action, inch on with the plan
We look from inside out to others who can
We help to succeed, to crawl or to stand.
