Grab a slab and raise a toast…
if that is what it’s called.
I know you do it with a drink.
With food, I don’t recall.
In either case let’s celebrate
a food we dearly love,
Those bacon slices fall to us
from Heaven up above.
Though bacon isn’t on the list
of seven deadly sins,
I have no doubt it’s played a part
to put some where they’ve been.
Bacon’s lore is strong enough,
by some it’s been forbidden,
And I’m okay if that’s your way;
if that’s how you are bidden.
You see I feel that choices are
the key to liberty,
And when you choose no bacon well…
you leave much more for me.
